Consulting for
Verified AI Research

For legal and investigative teams that need speed, privacy, and defensible evidence

Most firms are already experimenting with AI, but few have a process that holds up under pressure. We help legal, investigative, media, and law enforcement teams build research workflows that do — through strategy, hands-on research execution, private AI systems, and ongoing monitoring across ChatGPT, NotebookLM, Claude, Gemini, and Microsoft Copilot.

Who We Serve
  • Law Firms
  • Licensed Investigators
  • Media Organizations
  • Law Enforcement

01

How We Work

Every engagement starts with diagnosis, then moves to execution. Choose the lane that fits your current constraint: operating model design, hands-on investigative research, or secure systems implementation.

02

Methodology

Our method is AI-assisted and human-led. Models accelerate retrieval and synthesis; analysts verify every material claim before delivery.

03

Case Studies

Real applications of how AI-powered research delivers court-ready intelligence across legal defense, corporate investigations, and media verification.

04

Research Validation

Independent research consistently shows measurable gains from well-governed AI use in knowledge work. The most relevant findings: up to 40% quality lift in consulting tasks, 66% productivity lift in structured business workflows, and consistent evidence that trained teams outperform ad hoc users.

The Consultant Study

Harvard Business School & BCG (2023)

A controlled study of 758 consultants performing complex, creative problem-solving tasks.

  • 40% higher quality results vs non-AI group.
  • 25.1% faster task completion speed.
  • 12.2% more tasks completed overall.

The Usability Study

Nielsen Norman Group (2023)

Measured experienced business users performing realistic writing and analysis tasks.

  • 66% productivity lift per hour.
  • Zero Capital Cost: Gains achieved via training, not infrastructure.
  • Narrowed the gap between junior and senior staff performance.

The Generative AI Report

MIT & Stanford / NBER (2023)

Focused on text-heavy support and drafting workflows, arguably the most relevant to legal reporting.

  • 14% increase in issues resolved per hour.
  • 34% productivity boost for entry-level workers.
  • Retention: Significant reduction in staff turnover.

Work Trend Index

Microsoft Annual Report (2024)

A survey of knowledge workers revealing the "Shadow AI" risk already present in firms.

  • 75% of knowledge workers already use AI.
  • Risk: Most use unapproved, public tools.
  • 90% reported it helped them filter "drudgery."

Engagement Types & Modules

Choose the engagement format first, then layer specialized modules as needed. We support pilot launches, fixed-scope sprints, advisory retainers, and long-horizon build programs.

Meet the Founder

Daniel Powell, founder of The Haddam Research Group

Daniel Powell

Daniel Powell founded The Haddam Research Group in Connecticut to solve a critical vulnerability in the legal and investigative sectors: standard generative AI is built for prediction, but high-stakes investigations require absolute, defensible truth.

His approach comes from a rare combination of technical engineering, operational security, and hands-on project management. Daniel has worked with software since 2005 and brings a hands-on understanding of how digital systems are designed and maintained. His time as a researcher at a specialized counter-drone consultancy built a strict discipline in Open Source Intelligence (OSINT), threat analysis, and secure data collection. His years managing complex timelines, budgets, and stakeholders as a project manager for a design and build firm reinforced that technology is only valuable if it solves real problems.

He has also applied frontier AI in architectural and construction settings through purpose-built tools designed for specific, short-term operational needs. That work focuses on rapid solutions that solve immediate problems, support field decisions, and preserve documentation quality without introducing long-term system overhead.

Even in a world shaped by remote work and AI-first communication, Daniel still values direct, face-to-face collaboration. When engagements call for deeper alignment, he prefers working on-site with client teams to accelerate decisions, strengthen trust, and ensure implementation reflects the realities of day-to-day operations.

Because of this background, Daniel doesn't sell theoretical software or generic chatbot workshops. He builds practical, repeatable infrastructure. Having used generative AI in live operating environments since 2021, he builds secure research pipelines that bridge the gap between frontier intelligence tools and traditional investigative tradecraft.
