Daniel Powell
Daniel Powell founded The Haddam Research Group in Connecticut to solve a critical vulnerability in the legal and investigative sectors: standard generative AI is built for prediction, but high-stakes investigations require absolute, defensible truth.
His approach comes from a rare combination of technical engineering, operational security, and hands-on project management. Daniel has worked with software since 2005 and brings a hands-on understanding of how digital systems are designed and maintained. His time as a researcher at a specialized counter-drone consultancy built a strict discipline in Open Source Intelligence (OSINT), threat analysis, and secure data collection. His years managing complex timelines, budgets, and stakeholders as a project manager for a design and build firm reinforced that technology is only valuable if it solves real problems.
He has also applied frontier AI in architectural and construction settings through purpose-built tools designed for specific, short-term operational needs. That work focuses on rapid solutions that solve immediate problems, support field decisions, and preserve documentation quality without introducing long-term system overhead.
Even in a world shaped by remote work and AI-first communication, Daniel still values direct, face-to-face collaboration. When engagements call for deeper alignment, he prefers working on-site with client teams to accelerate decisions, strengthen trust, and ensure implementation reflects the realities of day-to-day operations.
Because of this background, Daniel doesn't sell theoretical software or generic chatbot workshops. He builds practical, repeatable infrastructure. Having used generative AI in live operating environments since 2021, he builds secure research pipelines that bridge the gap between frontier intelligence tools and traditional investigative tradecraft.
